Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks – The Original Line-up (Early 1970’s)
Here’s another series from my old film collection. The negatives are thin, so not much detail, but I feel these are worth sharing for their historic value. I’ve been following Dan Hicks ever since and he’s one of my favorites. I’ve seen him live many times, but I’m so glad that I got to see this original line-up live one time. I don’t have any notes to document exactly where or when this show happened, but it was in San Diego, best guess so far is at the Catamaran Hotel in Pacific Beach, and I’m thinking it was in 1973, shortly before this version of the Hot Licks parted ways.
